In a significant leap forward for public health, Northeast Health Wangaratta has recently installed a state-of-the-art Syringe Dispensing Unit (SDU) at Wangaratta Hospital. Designed and manufactured by Australia's own G2V Design, this G2VD0409 SDU will aid the distribution of clean injecting equipment to the community.

Northeast Health Wangaratta have provided a needle and syringe program for many years with equipment being provided to the community via the Emergency Department Triage (EDT) staff.
The purchase and installation of an SDU from G2V Design has helped NHW to continue to support the needs of the community while removing the need for their attendance at Triage.
This promotes the client's anonymity, reduces the workload of the busy EDT while continuing to reduce harms and support the health of injecting drug users.
The SDU will be dispensing Terumo 5 packs.
One notable feature of the G2VD0409 SDU is its battery-powered operation. This means that the unit does not rely on mains electricity, ensuring its functionality even in areas with limited power infrastructure. However, it's worth noting that the SDU can also be mains powered if needed, offering flexibility to adapt to different environments.
NHW has chosen to implement the "free vend delay" feature in the SDU. This feature ensures that each user must wait for a brief moment after the machine dispenses the requested syringes before dispensing any additional products.
Glenn Visca has been a delight to work with; professional, reliable and knowledgeable about the needs for our regional area. He provided timely support, education and information as well as a stress free SDU installation process.
